Rara Lake, known as Nepal's 'queen of heaven,' is set to receive a prestigious upgrade. A significant agreement has been reached by an Australian investment company, Expert Group, to construct the inaugural high-end resort in the vicinity of Rara Lake.

This pioneering project marks a significant step towards introducing luxury tourism to Nepal's Karnali province. The agreement was formalized during the Third Nepal Investment Summit in the presence of dignitaries like Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Hit Bahadur Tamang.

The eco-friendly resort, planned to be constructed at an impressive altitude of 3,700 meters above sea level, will provide stunning panoramic vistas of the unspoiled Rara Lake and the imposing mountains that encircle it.

The first stage will involve an investment of around 70 million rupees for the resort, which will cover 80 ropani in Chhayanath Rara Municipality, Mugu.

Abhishek Vikram Shah, representing Rara Holdings Pvt. Ltd., emphasized the resort's commitment to reflecting the rich local culture and minimizing its environmental impact. The design will incorporate traditional Nepalese elements while maximizing the use of local resources and manpower.

This development is expected to be completed within the next 18 months, paving the way for a new era of luxury tourism in Rara and the Karnali province as a whole.
